Back from NYC...

The best part about NYC is February is getting your picture taken while wearing a scarf--it hides all the extra chins! :)
Darrell and I spent the last week in NYC and had a most wonderful time! (no hat purchases, though)  We walked a lot--my feet are still recovering.  Ellis Island & the Met were a couple of the highlights of our trip.  We also spent Tuesday at the Westminster Dog Show (go Hickory!!!)  And, we ate...a lot.  Thanks to my recent un-fill, I was able to eat much more than I should.  And, I enjoyed every bite!  I'm up about 5 lbs, but am confident it will come off again now that I am back to my regular schedule.

If you're visiting New York, definitely try out the following restaurants:
Balthazar
Tulsi
Craftbar
Gramercy Tavern (ask for Mark--best waiter in the history of the world!)
Glass House Tavern

Cheers!

speaking of vitamins...

About a month ago, I started taking the B-50 Complex vitamins from Bariatric Advantage. I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that I seem to have more energy in general and haven't been suffering from the mid-afternoon slump that so often sent me to be for a nap.  The only thing that I've been doing differently is taking the vitamins, so I'll have to give them a "Thumbs Up!"

Great article on WLS & vitamins...

I recently subscribed to an online magazine called WLSLifestyles.  I haven't had a chance to thoroughly explore, but I did come across a series of articles that I found to be extremely informative and interesting.  I feel comfortable sharing the first in the series here because it is offered free on their site.  I hope to post the other two in the series as soon as I figure out if there are any legal restrictions in doing so.

weight loss "meh"...and some amazing photographs!

...that's about all I can muster these days.  I think it's safe to say that I'm in a weight-loss funk.  I'm still holding steady @ 210.  I've been hovering around this number for about 3(+?) months.  Of course, I had the trouble with the overfill which led to a partial unfill.  I think somewhere in between the two would be best.  I'm feeling 200% better after the unfill, so I'm still glad I did it.  But, I can definitely eat too much if I'm not careful.  And, when I do manage to limit myself to smaller portions they just don't hold me over for very long.  All in all...meh.

The non-weight-loss portion of my life is going swimmingly!  I've been having a blast organizing a progressive Open House hosted by the Board of Directors for our neighborhood association (Darrell & I are Co-Treasurers).  It's a voluntary association, so we're trying to seduce some new members.

I also spent some time printing & framing some photographs that we have taken on our adventures over the last few years.  We have set up an "art gallery" in our hallway and I am still amazed at how breathtaking some of Darrell's photos are.  Here are a few:

Water tower on Alcatraz Island

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

Amsterdam

Poudre River Vally, Colorado

Fort Collins, Colorado

Muir Woods, California
