counting down...pre-op day 13 (take 2)

Yesterday was better.  Still hungry.  Still thirsty (wtf?).  Still torturing myself by continuing to cook good smelling stuff for Darrell.  Yesterday I had a Venezuelan sirloin roast in the crock pot all day.  Boy did it smell good!  Today I'm working on a sausage, bean & greens "stew."  I don't like collard greens, but Darrell does.  This one should be easy to resist.

I anticipate that my biggest problem today will be boredom.  Eating the same thing day after day is bad enough.  But doing nothing but drinking--that's just boring!

Good news, though, is that I dropped a couple of pounds already.

Too funny that you are cooking. I stopped during my pre-op and told my hubby he was on his own. He actually drank a lot of smoothies as he isn't much of a cook. He is out of town a few days a week so ate out too. Maybe think of just putting simple things like meat on the BBQ so you don't have to "smell". Take care. You will get through this fine.

Hang in there. In the meantime, I know you said you and Darrell have this agreement - but can you maybe come up with an alternative for these two weeks? It's probably just my style but I'd ask under the premise that the worst he can say is no - and he might just say yes. And you never know unless you ask the question. He doesn't know you are being tortured unless you tell him....

Hang in there. After day three it does get better.

It must be torture for you having to prepare and smell those dinners. Good idea to pick meals you don't like. Better idea to ask Darrell for some kind of reprieve. Maybe you can make it up to him in other ways **wink wink**

I don't think I could be the good wife and cook for my husband while on a liquid diet. Hang in there!

Somewhere in the liquids process the knowledge comes that food is just food and life can proceed without indulging each day. And then when you can eat again, hopefully you can take some of that appreciate with you.
