counting down...pre-op 4...i may never eat chocolate again...

Only 4 more days!!!!  I'm starting to get a little nervous.  It's not that I'm scared of the surgery itself.  I've had surgery before and, although it makes me sound like a junkie, I actually like that whole sleepy-after-anesthesia feeling that you get for a few days.  I could never be an actual junkie.--Not because I don't like the feeling of being on meds, but because I have no idea how to go about getting black-market drugs.  But, I digress. (And, if you do know how to get black market drugs, please don't tell me.  I don't want to know.)

Anyhoozle, I'm starting to get nervous.  I know in my head that everything will be fine.  But, I'm still nervous.  Normal, I think.

So, onto chocolate.  Why, why, why (ok, seriously, did anyone else notice that when you type the word "why" three times in a row it kind of stops looking like a word?--but, I digress...again)  don't they make the meal-replacement shakes in more than just a few flavors?  SlimFast?--Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry.  Ensure?--Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry.  Myoplex?  Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry.  You get the picture.  And, since I don't like the strawberry it's just Chocolate, Vanilla...Chocolate, Vanilla...Chocolate, Vanilla.  Ugh!

Yeah...the sweetness of them will eventually kill you. My husband is on Unjury protein stuff and they make a chicken soup one. It's actually pretty good and gives you that "salty" flavor that all the other shakes make you crave. You're doing great! Hang in there!

Isopure makes a gazillion different flavors and most are zero carb, too. My hubby (who did the pre-op with me) loved the Banana. We bought the powders and mixed it up ourselves instead of the bottles of already prepared. Anyway, they had a Cookies n' Cream. A Fruit Punch. The basics. Even an unflavored. I loved the unflavored mixed into already warmed chicken broth. That was GOOD!

Understandable to be nervous. I remember being more nervous about how the day was going to go than the surgery itself. You'll be fine and it'll be a breeze! And it'll be here before you know it! I'm so excited for you!!!

I was so nervous before surgery, but just think of all of us that did. I didn't have to do a long liquid diet but I still hate those shakes. After surgery I drank a grape designer whey drink that was still sweet, but at least not a shake.

I'm with those guys on isupure or unjury unflavored mixed into crystal light. You can also put a couple of drops of flavoring into your vanilla shake (banana, lemon...) it helps sometimes. My favorite shakes are still the Dymatize Elite, the vanilla is really good and if you like coffee then the Click Mocha is awesome mixed with vanilla. Not too much longer now, you will make it!!
