Tina!--I can't comment on your blog. Just wanted to say how excited I am about the progress you are making on your knitting store.
So, I told my doc how frustrated I was with my progress (or lack of). I told him just what I told y'all...that I'm not perfect but that I feel like I make the right choices 90% of the time. We chatted a bit, he asked some questions, looked at my chart and agreed that I was a little behind where he would like for me to be. He then reviewed my history of fill/unfill and told me that, unfortunately, this would probably continue to be a more difficult time for me (as opposed to others) due to the swelling issues that I have post-fill.
We talked in depth about the last unfill--which happened NOT because I couldn't' keep down liquids but rather because I couldn't get down my pills (specifically my "crazy" pill--Lexapro). He did some checking and confirmed that Lexapro is available in liquid and suggested that I ask my PCP to prescribe it for me to take in the week or so after an adjustment. He said that if I was willing, he would like to keep giving me "mini-fills" until I get to the point where I need to be to lose weight more comfortably and more quickly. He also asked me to try to "wait out" the swelling this next time (assuming I get the liquid Lexapro)--even if it means liquids for a full week or two. Of course, if I can't keep down liquids, I am to call him immediately.
We did discuss other options--converting to the sleeve (or bypass) or just accepting that I am where I am. Since I have proven that I can lose (albeit slowly) with the lap band, we both want to continue with the fills for a while longer instead of giving up on the band altogether.
I love that my doc is able to be non-judgmental (I told him about the M-n-M fest in Monteray), supportive AND realistic. I love that has patience with the process when I have run out. I love that he believes I can do this and I love that he isn't afraid to push me.
Cheers!

PS The curtains came today and they are even better than I could have hoped! The colors are sublet, but perfect. And, the linear design plays off of the area rug design nicely. Plus, we have a lot of angular pieces in our house, so the wavy pattern really helps to soften the entire space.

sounds like your band doc is a good listener :) I wanna see pics of the curtains.
I am glad you have this kind of communication with your surgeon, it is so very important to be a TEAM with them.
I hope it all works out for you, you have done such a great job so far!
I think it's great that your doctor will work with you. And I like the idea of the Lexapro being in liquid. Maybe this is just what you need. I hope so.
